Screen freezing

Whenever I put anything I'm watching on hold, I then have to deal with constant freezing of the picture!  I have a box that was on an old TV & am still using it for a new HD Smart TV.  Do I possible need a new box?

Hello @bbtrixie,

I am so sorry to hear of the issues with the picture freezing while watching TV! I definitely understand how it can impact your watch experience, and I would be more than happy to provide some assistance with this!

We have a wonderful resource online which can assist with correcting common issues. Please access our Troubleshoot & Resolve Tool to be taken through a specialized diagnostic flow specific to your account and services. If this does not fix the problem, we may need to take a deeper look in to what is going on with the streaming services.

Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns. I hope you have a wonderful day!

We're here to help get your TV's picture back, @Madelyngray !

Just to clarify, are you receiving any error messages when your TV is on?

We recommend Troubleshooting U-verse TV Picture by doing the following:

  • Hold down the Power button for 10 seconds.

  • Press it again to restart the receiver. This will take 5-8 minutes and will affect any DVR recordings in progress. Your Broadband and Service lights should be green.

  • If this doesn't resolve your picture, please verify cables connected to your Residential Gateway are snug and secure. Also make sure the input settings on your TV match the type of cables you are using (video, HDMI, etc.).

Let us know if this helps!
