Red X 3

A red x with a 3 underneath is showing on my tv. Please help!

Hey there kas6, we'd be happy to help you fix the red X on your TV!

 

When the red X is displayed, it means that your system is having trouble communicating. Try unplugging your receiver and waiting two minutes, plugging it back in, then restarting.

 

If that doesn't solve the problem, unplug your Wi-Fi gateway and wait two minutes, then plug it back in and restart. This will temporarily disrupt Internet, TV, and Voice service.

 

If the red X is still on the screen, run diagnostics on your service with the Troubleshoot & Resolve Tool on U-verse TV.

 

Here are the steps:

  1. Press Menu on the U-verse Remote Control.   
  2. Scroll down to Help, then press OK.   
  3. Select Information.
  4. Scroll to Troubleshoot & Resolve, then press OK.   
  5. Select the service you want to troubleshoot and allow the interactive diagnostic test to run and complete.   
  6. Follow the onscreen instructions to resolve. Other options may include dispatching a technician or speaking to a Customer Care agent.
