Red link light on receiver

The link light is always red.  The picture and sound freezes. Eventually the system reboots itself.  It usually takes a couple of hours for the reboots to work.  I have rebooted myself and that works no better.

Try the following Troubleshoot & Resolve steps from your TV:

  • Press Menu.
  • Select Help > Information > Troubleshoot & Resolve > TV > DVR.
  • Follow the onscreen prompts.

If that doesn't work, call 800-288-2020 for a replacement. One will be shipped via FedEx or UPS. Return the defective to any FedEx or UPS store and they'll do the rest.

I just accidentally peeked at a similar 2 year old thread, and in it was a suggestion to confirm connectivity back to gateway.  Wiring.  If something changed in that area, putting another box in won’t change the result.
