If you were instructed to RECYCLE your Uverse TV equipment, it's up to YOU to find a recycling site.  AT&T does not want it back.

That being said, you might to go ahead and take it to a UPS/FedEx location along with your account number to return it to AT&T.  There is some debate as to whether or not disposing (ie recycling) the equipment is the right thing to do.

What say you @baseballisback ?

I say this:

Try your hardest to return it to several UPS or FedEx stores. If the first doesn't take it after asking a few times, I'd try a second store.

If several stores have been attempted with numerous failures, keep the equipment for several months before recycling. Some people report receiving emails about "If you fail to return it, you will be charged." These emails might convince the store employees to accept the equipment.

And if/when you do manage to return the equipment, get a receipt with tracking number and put it in a safe place for a very long time.
