Receivers not working with the Motorola BGW210-700

I recently received a New Gateway from ATT&T. The Motorola BGW210-700, which does not have a coax port in the back like my previous gateway did. Now the othe receivers in my house do not get a signal. Do I need to get different receivers?

We are happy to help with your new gateway, @cgertonson.

Let's help get you set up with your BGW210-700.

If you are still having trouble, the answers to the following question will help us point you in the right direction:

  • What kind of internet do you have?
  • Do you have any wireless receivers?

We are looking forward to hear back from you.

I am going to assume since your last gateway had a coax port that your current receivers are not the wireless Uverse receivers.  You have a couple options here.  1. you could call AT&T and let them know you need another gateway that has a coax port.... thats going to be either the Pace 5268AC or the NVG599. Keep in mind those are older gateways and in my opinion and experience are not as good with the internet side of things as the newer BGW210-700.

2.  Do you have access to ethernet at the locations of your U-verse receivers? if so just disconnect the coax and connect them up via ethernet.

3.  If you want to keep the newer BGW210-700 you will have to request wireless U-verse receivers.  They will send you a WAP ( wireless access point) that you will connect to the gateway and that signal will feed the wireless receivers.

4. This is not an approved method but its what I did and still do and have been doing the past 5 years now.  I bought an inexpensive HPNA adapter from amazon and connected that to my BGW210-700 and that allowed me to keep using coax for my receivers and to keep the BGW210-700.......that adapter basically connects to the gateway via ethernet but it has a coax output that you can connect to your main coax cable and that will be as if the gateway had a coax port like your old gateway.

I hope this info helps....
