Re: Only one receiver now?

That may be a deal-breaker for me.  That amounts to a $10 price increase, right off the bat.  I was GOING to sign up but see that the year free HD offer is gone and now this!  A day late and a dollar (okay $20) short.  Sorry, the price savings gap between U-verse and Comcast is slipping.  And what year will AT&T offer Whole house DVR?  2009? 2019? :smileytongue:

The monthly saving for the tv service and internet is definitely compromised with that announcement.  Its too bad because the price is why uverse got a lot of customers inspite of it's shortcomings.  Services better get extraordinary to for them attract customers the way they did when the price was so low. imo

This is all very weird to me in that they seem to be doing it backwards in a way if you know what I mean. :smileywink:

I can always remember seeing the ads for TWC and Comcast or even my old DSL........Offer good for new customers only........remember that in the fine print?

Well I got tired of seeing that and called up Comcast and said, hey, I understand what you guys need to do, getting new customers and all that, BUT, when are you going to do something for your old loyal customers, who have been with you for years, never late with theur payments and so on???

I was surprised because they took $10 a month off of my bill when I made that comment. Not a fortune but it's a start. Same with my DSL. When I was paying $19.99 for the 768k connection and they were advertising it for $12.99.

Maybe I was just lucky and got a CSR who was in a good mood, but I asked and my bill was lowered for a full year to the $12.99 deal.

Everything has always been to get the NEW customers and the heck with the old ones. Maybe there is a method to AT&T's madness in the way they are doing this. :smileywink: I have my own thoughts on the maybe but won't say why because I know you all will then have me committed!! :smileyvery-happy:

Well the CSR in most call centers is trained to give you a little credit if you request it, although they aren't supposed to offer it  I'm sure.  Never hurts to ask, and yeah, I had been known to give someone a little credit, especially if it had been a really bad day with "bad calls" and you were finally the nice person they needed to hear.

I got a friendly tsr Sunday when I called to cancel my free month of hbo/cinemax and got a free year of the movie package.  It might be possible to get a happy csr at uverse and get an stb thrown in for good measure.  Just a thought.

Mark its not appropriate to give someone  credit  because they are nice to you. Credits should be warranted and justified.

Where did I say anything about how appropriate it is?  You'll find all kinds of things in the world that happen and aren't appropriate, but it still happens.  It's life.
