not receiving TV WAP signal.
Everything U-Verse TV has worked fine for several years.
(In addition to hard-wired receivers), I have 2 wireless receivers working off a WAP, which is about 35 Ft from one receiver, and, hmm, 50 ft. from from another ( and, because it’s an ell-shaped house, shortest direct signal “path” to that receiver goes inside and outside, back to inside the house.
The 2-3 green bars on the farther receiver has worked just fine ( full five on nearer receiver).
Last night, U-verse screen instructed to reestablish WAP ( farther) receiver connection. Even after doing so theoretically “ successfully,” eventually a “ UVerse not available, restart receiver” message came on, never having gotten a picture.
HOWEVER, during all this the nearer receiver showed full green bars and reception was perfect on the other TV!
Even though eventually connection was established last night on further receiver and TV, this morning i had only red bars and no reception on further receiver ( but full green bars and reception on nearer!). But, without doing anything, the red bars on the farther receiver, started going back and forth to green (2bars), getting and losing reception, then, now, at this moment, staying on 2-green and reception fine.
**So, is/was the problem lying with the far receiver or with the WAP?? Can a WAP lose partial strength ( so that the nearer receiver never lost apparent full green signal, but the farther one lost connection), or can a receiver go bad in its ability to consistently pick up signal ( and maintain my 2-3 green bars.** Would I need a new receiver, or a WAP ( despite no problem with nearer reception).
Again, all had worked perfectly for several years.

Yes, the WAP radio can lose power and thus range. The receiver's radio can do the same thing. You could try switching the two receivers. If the problem completely moves to the closer location, then have AT&T replace that wireless receiver. If the problem remains at the further location (and no problem at the closer location), call AT&T and see if they'll ship you a replacement WAP.

Thanks much. Much appreciated.
Switching receivers did not improve far reception. So returned each to each.
Next morning bars were red, but then had moments of green. At some point, for some reason, green 2-3 bars became steady and reception consummated.
(Then, noticed that up-down channel was not working from remote, note the “Guide” button, producing only “no channels available”—though this was untrue, full range of channels were available by putting in the channel numbers ( but Giude didn’t work even though channel info did.
Anyway, fooling around Menu, i came upon Reset ( or was it Restart) Receiver, which i decided to try, even though the ”Are You Sure” window popped up ( to scare me).
It worked to restore Remote’s Up-Down Channel and Guide function.
So, bottomline, the failure of reception—the red bars—which had persisted through many WAP resets, “successful” reconnections that still ultimately informed that “U-verse” is not available, etc., the persistent red bars all just finally went away, and I’m back to fully satisfactory, consistent 2-3 green bars and fine reception.
Very puzzling, and i wonder if a re-failure is around the corner.
