New STB - Account unavailable

Trying to add a new (7th) wired STB and get the following message:

Account unavailable.

This Set Top Box does not match the account settings.

  • Is there a limit to the number of wired STB's?
  • Does the STB require configuration into my account on the AT&T Uverse side?

I believe the limit is one DVR and seven receivers.

Did you call AT&T technical support at 800-288-2020? What did they suggest?

Spent 67 minutes on phone with tech support. We were able to change the behavior to an iteration which requested an "Update Now" on a "Service Connection" screen, but following that update, it returned to the same repeatable "Account unavailable" error. Oddly enough, the new device does show up in the list of uVerse nodes in the Gateway's Home Network Devices list.

A technician visit was recommended, but I'm not certain one is warranted for what equates to a "nice-to-have" installation. I have the ticket #, just in case I decide to pursue the technician visit option.
