Need help with charges
I turned my equipment in today...now I'm being told they might return it because the equipment wasn't returned soon enough. I never got any emails that were sent...they say I owe $600....I didn't know there was a time period first of all. Then covid happened not long after my service was canceled so I really couldn't go anywhere to return the equipment because the world basically shut down. Please review the account and help me.

you have 21 days from the date of cancellation (during covid it was extended to 60 days) to return the equipment. once charged you have 6 months to return it and they will refund you charges.

I want to provide a more complete copy of the policy that mentions the 6 months deadline. The emphasis in this paragraph is mine.

We're here to help address your equipment billing concerns, @Jbourgeois82.
What @Constructive & @JefferMC mentioned is correct. while you are eligible to be refunded if you returned your equipment within 6 months of your service being terminated, the charges will remain valid if that timeframe has passed.
If you believe that it's been less than 6 months since you returned the equipment, please don't hesitate to call our customer service line at 1(800)288-2020 and they'll be able to assist with looking at the details of your account with you and verifying whether or not you're eligible for a refund.
Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns, and thanks for reaching out on the AT&T Community Forums!
