Need help solving a connectivity issue between my U-Verse main receiver and my replacement Receiver.

Can't get a "Link" light on my replacement AT&T U-verse Receiver

Moved to U-verse.  

How is your new U-verse Receiver connected to the Gateway?

Did your Gateway come with any instructions about waiting until a certain time to connect it?

What, if anything, appears on the TV screen when you plug the Receiver in?

JefferMC thanks for the response. I was able to figure out the problem by looking at the model of receiver AT&T sent me. I am almost too embarrassed to admit this but it took me almost an hour of attempting to connect my replacement receiver before I determined that AT&T had replaced my defective wireless receiver with a hard-wire version! :-( 
To add insult to injury, they tried charging me a $50 upgrade fee when I contacted them to correct their error! Luckily I got a very good and easy to understand customer/technical support person: I hope the problem is solved and that my NEW replacement receiver will be wireless!
