Need a Replacement U-Verse TV Receiver in 2023

Since having to replace The Wireless Access Point Router I now need to Replace one of U-Verse TV Receivers and I need it to have a WIFI option.
Since ATT is no longer offering U-Verse to new Customers and as an long time existing Customer that still pays for U-verse Internet & TV as a package deal... Is it still possible to get U-Verse TV Hardware support in 2023?

Thank you for reaching out to us! We hear you, and happy to assist you with this, @gunder2.

The replacement can be sent for a self-install. Replacement wireless receiver:

  • The replacement receiver arrives the next business day when placed before 7 p.m. ET. For orders placed after 7 p.m. ET, the receiver arrives within two business days.
  • The replacement receiver can be mailed to a home or any alternate address that they desire.
  • The delivery is via UPS or FedEx, and it may be left on their doorstep depending on how UPS or FedEx handled deliveries in their area.
  • The customer can provide an alternate address and number to receive the shipment (for example, neighbor they trust, family member's address, or work address).
  • When order is placed, you will receive an email with the UPS or FedEx tracking information.

For more information you can reach out to our tech support at 800.288.2020.

We hope this helps!

An aside:  While returning defective Uverse TV equipment was the norm, you may get an email advising you to recycle the equipment and NOT return it.

It is advisable to hold off recycling it and keeping it for the time being.  Different customers have received different instructions.  Some are told to recycle only to later receive a bill for the equipment.  🤷‍♀️

How many wireless receivers do you currently have?

There is a limit to the number supported by the system.

There is also likely a limit to which wireless receivers are available.

Mostly, especially the last 12 months our garage only had the 7005 which is 1st gen receivers, the system only supports (2) 7005. If need additional unit(s) would need to be 2nd gen 7105 or 2500. These had a one time charge of $49 plus the monthly $10 equipment fee per receiver.

If need a 2nd gen wireless receiver will likely have to go through sales not support. As now 3.5 years since the service was discontinued for sales not sure if that equipment is available… if is it is rare.
