need a new DVR for uverse package upgrade

Im trying to switch from Ubasic to U200 and they said I need a new DVR because the update isnt supported with my current DVR box. I find that weird since I used to have U200. Anyways, Im waiting for the new DVR box and wondering if anyone knows if getting a new DVR box is actually necessary? any kind of reboot I can do?

Normally a U-basic customer wouldn't have a DVR.  If you did (because you downgraded to U-basic from a tier that did, or because you paid the uplift fee for a DVR), then your DVR should be fine and you really shouldn't need another.

However, the AT&T ordering system may do things that are not strictly necessary.

Hey Jeffer, I did downgrade. from U200 to Ubasic. Im just really confused on all of this.

So you went from U200 (with a DVR) to UBasic and now back to U200?  I think that's where the confusion is coming in.

Yea. they told me that it wont process fully until the 21st. Which I find weird because I was able to swap from U200 to Ubasic in the blink of an eye. so why cant they just swap it back to U200 in the blink of an eye?

Yes I have the 2262. I was not instructed to return the DVR when I downgraded and we have still been able to record while on Ubasic.

Still able to record on U-Basic makes me think that the DVR fee was paid. If that's the case, last I checked, there weren't really any cost savings.

You should be good to go. Those channels should come in immediately. I'm not sure why they gave you so much time to process.
