My Gateway reboots randomly 1-2 times/week

Approximately 1-2 times per week my gateway will randomly reboot.  When it does I lose TV, Internet and Phone service.  Sometimes after the gateway gets done rebooting I will also have to reboot the TV/DVR box in order to get the TV service back.  This has been going on for at least a month now and it has gotten very annoying.  I suspect that either the gateway has a problem or that the cable drop to the house has an issue.

Call 800-288-2020. I suspect they'll send a replacement gateway via FedEx or UPS. You have 30 days to make sure AT&T receives your current equipment via drop-off at any UPS or FedEx location.

Make sure you have your account number when you go in there, but you don't need to tape the box shut.

Let's make sure your internet stays up, @ohdad9224

We recommend troubleshooting your gateway. It's possible that it could be defective or damaged.

You may want to check if any of the following applies to your gateway:

  • Wi-Fi gateway is smoking.
  • Wi-Fi gateway is making a loud humming noise.
  • Wi-Fi gateway is melted and misshapen.
  • Wi-Fi gateway rattles inside when shaken.

It's also important to pay attention to the lights on your equipment.

  • Confirm the Power, Broadband, and Service lights on your gateway are green. If your lights aren’t green, you may have a problem getting a signal or your gateway may be having a problem.
  • If the Power, Broadband, or Service lights on your gateway are not green, Power cycle your gateway by unplugging the power cord on the unit from the wall outlet, and then wait two minutes before plugging it back in.

If this doesn't help, please let us know. A replacement may be necessary.

Factory reset the gateway.   If the random reboots persist, have att send a replacement.
