Is att internet required to have uverse?

Hi, I've read several posts and chatted with ATT but can't seem to get a clear answer.  If I cancel ATT internet and get Tmobile internet. Can I still keep Uverse TV? If so, does anyone know of a tutorial on how to do this? Thank you for your time, Kim

You do not have to subscribe to AT&T Internet to keep AT&T U-verse TV.  However, you do have to maintain your physical AT&T Network connection, including the Gateway, etc. in order for your U-verse TV to continue working.  The U-verse IPTV service does not work over the Internet, it works over AT&T's private network (which is normally shared with the AT&T Internet service).

There are a few things that don't work correctly when you have a different Internet provider (e.g. I believe the music application doesn't work properly, the U-verse App used to not work without AT&T Internet service), but for the most part it will work fine.

Keep in mind that you could lose bundle promotions.

Thanks but I don't have a bundle price on the u verse, only a internet discount.

Yes, typically the bundle discount on U-verse TV + AT&T Internet is placed on the AT&T Internet, so dropping AT&T Internet will only cause you to lose the bundle discount on the service you're dropping anyway.

If you have any Ethernet runs in your home to feed a combination of Receivers and Game consoles or streaming devices, your life may get complicated.

Odd. My discount is definitely on the TV side. I called in a few months ago when my internet discount ended and they were unable to do anything other than give me a $100 discount off one bill, essentially extending my internet discount by five months.

I currently have discounts on both, but the thing labeled "bundle" has always been on Internet.

Lucky you.

I just called in to see about an additional internet discount. The guy remembered the $20/mo for one year promo and that's no longer offered as of Jan 2022.

However, I am grandfathered in to a really good price on my Internet 1000.

He did offer (and I took) $20 credit for the Fox and NBC disputes.

Just make sure at every phone call you never cancel uverse tv and always confirm with representative before they do anything to account.  since they no longer sell uverse tv, it can be next to impossible to get it reinstated.  Even if it's a minor glitch in their system or small edit to your account, that is their mistake.
