IR Sensor location for the Arris VIP2262 v2

How do I locate the sensor on the front of the receiver?

I must be doing something wrong, when I cut and paste the url listed above, all it does is take me to my question, not a solution to the question. Am I doing something wrong?

ok, went to Chrome, it took me to a page that I have llooked at a number of times, it unfortunately does not show where the IR Port is for the VIP2262 ... it shows it for a number of other receivers but not that one!

@Timopelt

I agree with you.  Spent a bit of time looking myself and nothing actually states this specific information.
Grab a coaster or similar object and walk it across the front panel and you should be able to figure out where the sensor is placed.

I have a 2262 here in my office.  Just for fun, I used two fingers to cover different parts on the front panel so see if I could block the signal from the remote....and I couldn't.  Weird, right?

If it's not along the front panel with the other buttons, where else could it be?  The mystery continues.....

@TimOpelt    EDIT::::  I think I have the answer.  I re-ran the test using a heavier object.  I covered up the space to the left of the "Menu" button and that seemed to stop the IR signal.  This is between the "Record" light and the "Menu" button.

I will need independent confirmation on these results.  :-)

Note to self:  I gotta get out more....

When doing the test, use a decent mass object.  I had a coaster handy.  Step back a few feet and do the test.  Should be easy to determine placement.  Remember IR is line of sight and must be unobstructed.

VIP 2262 receiver, the ir eye is just on the right side of the usb input, take a flashlight and shine it in that area and you’ll see it.
