How many U-verse HD streams with VIP2262 and Fiber 300 service?

Hello.  I recently upgraded to Fiber 300 internet service.  I have U-verse TV with whole-house DVR.  The article https://www.att.com/support/article/u-verse-tv/KM1040899/ , under "How does AT&T Fiber make your TV experience better?", says that 6 HD streams should be available for watching and recording.  I previously had 4 with the Internet 25 service.

I was sent a VIP2262 DVR.

Under System Information / System Info, the value for "Set-Top Box / CPU" is "ARRIS VIP22T1NA /405".

Under System Information / System Resources, the value for "Streams" is "0 SD/4HD (WAN); 0 SD/4HD (Ingress)", the value for "Bandwidth cap" is "31947200 (WAN); 31947200 (Ingress)", and the value for Egress Profile is "200000000, 0SD/3HD".

Are these the correct values for the Fiber 300 service?  Can I get 6 HD streams with the VIP2262 DVR?

Thanks.

“AT&T U-verse offers up to six streams simultaneously for AT&T Fiber with 1TB PACE DVR and four streams otherwise.”

It looks like the DVR you have is keeping you from getting the 6 streams.

I requested that DVR but they said they were sending the most current one instead.  Does anyone know whether the VIP2262 is capable of 6 HD streams?

As stated, you MUST HAVE THE 1TB PACE DVR to get 6 streams, otherwise you are limited to 4.

What part of that statement are you unclear on?  Your only option is to call CS and request the 1TB PACE DVR.

I believe you also need Internet 1000 tier for reasons I can't quite understand or explain.

I have Internet 1000 and some different DVR and only get four streams...yet with two TVs, that's really all I need.

If you follow the first link I posted it does show

AT&T Fiber UvClass 18g (100M/1G)
UvClass 16g (300M)

can receive 6 streams but it also states that you need the Pace 1T DVR so I’m not sure just calling in to get one’s profile changed would work.

Keep in mind that when you swap DVRs, you'll lose all saved shows and custom-hidden channels. Your schedule of shows to be recorded is the only thing that transfers.

For anyone who is interested:

I called 800-288-2020 this morning to ask about the issue of having only 4 HD streams.  The customer service representative reportedly was speaking with her supervisor about it during our half-hour call.  They kept changing their answers about why I only had 4 HD streams but finally landed on saying that the article I cited about getting 6 streams needs to be updated to say 4 streams.  I could get no answer on the phone beyond that.  They didn't say whether the reason was a technological limit or an administrative decision.

ATTHelp researched it later via Direct Messaging and eventually said that I could get 6 HD streams if I upgraded further to Fiber 1000 from Fiber 300.  I don't know why this is different from what I was told on the phone earlier.  Regardless, I didn't see any mention of that in the information I was provided before the fiber upgrade, and I'm not going to pay the extra money now to find out if it's correct.

Unless I’m reading it wrong, the website that I linked to said you can get 6 streams with Internet300 and the upgraded DVR.  If that info is wrong, it needs to be reported.

Did you get a DM from @ATTHelp ?

Agreed!  Thank you; it's nice to hear it from someone else.

I do think that everyone with whom I spoke or wrote was doing their best to resolve the issue.  It just seems to me that AT&T is not providing sufficient training or information to their support staff.  Maybe it's because this is a U-verse issue and they're sunsetting that, but it is certainly a headache for everyone on both sides and poor service for their customers.

Thanks, @my thoughts .  The history is interesting and may help explain some of the conflicting information that AT&T has offered over the past couple of days, anyway.
