Frustrated with how to get service for Uverse account

I have been a Uverse subscriber for several years now and have loved the service.  Now when I need a technician, I can't talk to anyone for assistance to reboot my services; I have a Roku TV and can get service for regular programs but my Uverse it not allowing me to receive my program services at all through ATT.  I was told I could not have a service tech in my home because of the pandemic  but this is the only  way it can be resolved.  If this is true, how to I get the defective unit to you and a new one to install?

Are you able to watch any programs?

Is it the DVR or STBs or both?

Do you have AT&T Internet?  Is that working?

Have you rebooted any Equipment?  The gateway?  The DVR?  Receivers?

I can see local through my Roku account but cannot access via my ATT account which means I can't record it for later when I have time and can skip the ads. I have ATT internet, email, if that makes any difference.   Can't answer your second question but a computer programmer I know looked at it and said it was probably my ??? the recorder that saves my programs for later.  He thinks the bigger of the two units that saves recordings is the problem but couldn't say for sure. He called someone and they suggested I send that unit back and get them to repair/replace it, but when I called ATT they said they don't make house calls because of the pandemic.....Waiting for word back for them to just send the unit and I will ship this one back.  I've had this service for at least 5 years with no calls, for service before....  I am not a geek who knows everything but use Internet, email, internet, excel, word, and even taught courses on computer skills....

You have ONE DVR and it is wired to your modem/gateway.  Any other boxes are receivers which can either be wired or wireless.  If you want to look at each one and report the names & model #s that would help.

Have YOU rebooted anything?  You don't need a service call to reboot your equipment.  It's an easy DIY task.

I have to admit I am baffled by the original reported issue.  Even if these reboots happen, how does that have anything to do with Roku?   Can you try explaining the Roku thing one more time, what you’re expecting to happen, please @oxymoroN ?

U-verse TV is a completely locked down service and doesn’t work with any other TV hardware beyond an Amazon Fire TV in which live streaming is limited.

Let's get your U-verse service back up and running, oxymoroN.

As our Aces suggested, you'll want to reboot your receivers. Just follow steps 1 and 2 in our guide. You can also troubleshoot directly from your TV following these steps:

  1. Press Menu.
  2. Select Help > Information > Troubleshoot & Resolve > TV > DVR.
  3. Follow the onscreen prompts.

Be sure to keep us posted!
