employee ID code...

if a customer with at&t is speaking to a customer service representative about their u-verse issues and the customer request for the employee's work ID are they not allowed by at&t company rules to not be given to a current customer? i ask because i have been given freely by some and others who insist those who have went against company rules. however when a customer goes into a physical location the employee and store Id are visible through out, rather it be on a receipt or on the visible business license. so what is it, can they give their employee work ID to a current loyal customer for over 10 years.

Hello @aeson81, let's answer your question. When talking to an employee, after we're able to authenticate your account, if you request the employee's UID, we must give it to you.
Let us know if you have any other questions!

While it may be at&t's official policy. If the agent is offshore, most likely the Phillipines where at&t's main call center is, they usually aren't trained and terrified of losing job.  They will either give you some random made up numbers or tell you they can't give you number, and the name they gave you is worthless because they are all made up names.

Even if they are in USA, they know customers only want id # for 1 reason, to complain so they'll make excuses.

AT&T tracks every interaction, and records everything every employee says and does, but 100% will never admit anything or let you listen to any recording.  It just makes sense, why open yourself up to liability, when you can just ignore customers.  They know we aren't ever going to sue them and file the subpoenas to get the info.

And even if you get an employee id # actually filing a complaint is about as useful as throwing paper into your trash can.  You'll never get an update as to what happened, because "privacy"
