Eero Wifi Mesh / uVerse Wireless Receiver / WAP

How do you change the configuration of a Uverse wireless TV receiver to see the Eero wifi and bypass the WAP? I understand connecting a laptop to the wireless receiver but don't know the next steps to replace the WAP with the Eero system.

Why would you want to connect a laptop to the wireless receiver?

The WAP is how the wireless receiver connects to the gateway. It cannot be bypassed or replaced. It is absolutely essential.

The wireless receiver keeps dropping the connection. AT&T sent their signal booster for $7 a month but it do not improve the signals in my house.   My eero mesh keeps a strong signal throughout my home.

You do not.

The WAP supplies a dedicated wireless network for the TV receivers.  The Airties Extenders have absolutely nothing to do with that WAP or the TV receivers; they work with the Gateway to distribute the Internet traffic over Wi-Fi.  If you are connecting an eero mesh system, you should unplug the AirTies and probably turn off the Wi-Fi on your Gateway.

One additional point about Uverse wireless set-top box, and that is if the signal is marginal, you'll have to adjust the position of the WAP and/or the receiver until you have a stable link.
