DVR/receiver loses current time. rewind history resets, recording stops
Watching live stream TV (DVR is also active, recording) during the day. The picture suddenly jumps and the time shows 1AM. There is no rewind history and the current recording ends (no surprise since it thinks it is now a different time). Subsequent recordings don't start, of course. Restarting the receiver seems to correct the problem.
Service is U-verse. I don't know whether it is the receiver hardware or a network glitch. It has happened at least 3 times in the last week.

That happens when there is either a problem with dvr. Or a network issue. Try restarting entire system.
Then plug things back in this order. Waiting for each device to fully power on and stabilize before moving to the next one. Gateway then dvr then wireless tv access point if you have wireless receivers then set top boxes.
If the issue occurs on only 1 set top box it may be related to internal wiring.
If you have uverse fiber to the node copper service a network issue is fairly common (service 100mbps and under). Network issues requiring high level tech support unless the problem is obvious (damaged wire that's visible)

Thanks. I did restart everything.
We had repair of wire leading to our house just a few months ago. I guess I'll just wait for it to happen again, then hope I can get technical help from ATT.

Often the repairs are pretty substandard and if the wires are ancient will often break again just a few feet further down the line. Are you on copper fiber to the node or fiber to the home?
