DVR receiver shows red X on startup

My DRV box (VIP2262 V2) shows a red X on the screen, and the LINK and RECORD LEDs flash continuously. I have tried the documented restart procedures for both the DVR box and the gateway, and I am unable to get past this screen. Please advise on what I can do, or how I can obtain a replacement for this piece of equipment.

As suggested, call to request a replacement DVR. 

Equipment dies.  A replacement will be sent for a self-install.  Bear in mind that you will lose your recordings but not your schedule.  If directed to return the old DVR, you have 21 days to do so.
