DVR model # VIP2262

I just had my DVR replaced yesterday and everything is working just fine, but today I noticed the oval on/off button doesn’t light up green when the unit is being used, there is a tiny red light to the left of the button that is on while the unit is off and goes out once I turn on the DVR...is this how the new DVR’s are supposed to work?
