Defective uverse remote

How can I ask AT&T for a replacement for a uverse remote that isn't working properly?

Call 800-288-2020 and ask for one to be sent. Some people have claimed there's a fee, but I've never been charged for a replacement.

Sure, you can ask.  There have been times when inventory was non-existent and they didn't have any to provide.  And, yes, apparently CSRs have indicated to some that replacements had to be purchased.  I have not found that to be true.
