Confirmation on Return DVR - Uverse
When I returned the gateway through UPS, I did receive a confirmation within a week via email that AT&T had received it. I returned the DVR through FedEx just because they were closer to where I was going. It has been over a month and NO confirmation. I have called and tried to get confirmation and still no confirmation. Is it FedEx or is it AT&T? Whichever, Customer Service no longer exists.

Did you get a receipt from FedEx Office acknowledging your return of the receiver? If so, no further confirmation is needed; the receipt serves.

As an AT&T retiree, I know for a fact that Many times the reason you have to hold onto the receipts from FedEx or UPS is because AT&T never checks in the component and tries to bill for the equipment, stating "failure to return". I thought when I got the confirmation email on the reciept of the UPS returned gateway, that I would get the same email on the FedEx returned DVR. Just sound customer service.

Perhaps. But having the receipt indicates you returned it, and it is not your responsibility to make sure that AT&T's agent (FedEx Office in this case) does what they're supposed to do or that the people in the returns depot that FedEx Office ships it to check it in properly.
An additional e-mail may provide you with peace of mind, but the receipt shows you've done all you had to.
