Cisco ISB 7500 is getting flaky, solution?

My Cisco ISB 7500 DVR has been very flaky over the past 3-4 weeks, exhibiting the following behaviors:

- Barely responsive or slow to respond to commands from remote (guide can take forever to come up, channel changes can take as long as 15 seconds to respond)

- Displays incorrect time at top right in guide (the channel entries appear to be showing up at the correct real time though)

A reboot of the DVR fixed the above issues. It reappeared a few days later and a reboot again cleared the problem.

But then…

- Was watching one program and when I tried to rewind it, the bar on the bottom showed a time over 4 hours later than real time, and it refused to rewind, fast forward, or show the guide at all. It was essentially locked onto this program until I rebooted.

- The next day, the show’s image froze while the audio kept going. DVR was not responsive to any remote commands, reboot cleared the issue.

It seems like the DVR is on its last leg, what might a solution be? I’ve already acquired a replacement remote for other reasons.

Many thanks!

I strongly suspect this is not the issue, but how are the batteries in the remote? If the power light blinks when you press a button, it's time to replace them.

That would certainly be easier than calling 800-288-2020 for a replacement and losing your saved shows.

Hi baseballisback, I did replace the batteries in the new remotes but I can always try that again :) Thanks!

Let's get your DVR working better, @BlueRingedOctopus

Thanks for the suggestion, @baseballisback!

If you haven't already, we recommend troubleshooting your DVR. If this doesn't help, we may need to either get a tech out there or swap out the DVR for a new one. Please let us know if this helps!
