circle with a number from 1 to 25 in it in the upper right corner of your tv

After programming s30-s1b remote volume shows as number in circle instead of volume bar?

Sounds like you might have gotten the remote programmed to control the volume on your RECEIVER instead of your TV.

Press the very tiny blue "Help" button on your U-Verse remote. It's at the bottom right of all the buttons.

There should be an option there to get it to work again.

The suggestion: “remote programmed to control the volume on your RECEIVER instead of your TV.” sounds like good clue.

but how do I get the programming to go to the TV?

Every time I follow the instructions for programming on the help Menu, it takes me back to square one, circle in upper left corner of screen.

Have you followed the instructions in this guide?

Thanks RhodesMan,

I tried all 5 of the codes in that instruction.

still same problem.

when I do the auto programming steps the red power button doesn’t flash every 3 seconds as instruction says, stays steady on and then eventually flashes maybe 5 times and goes out of programming mode.

help!  Anyone

On my remote, I have it set so that if I select the ATT button then I get the 1 to 25 circle as expected with the volume control. That's the remote setting the volume output from the DVR.

If I select the tv button on the remote then as expected it control the TV or surround sound system volume.

If you are trying to program the remote to talk to your TV and auto programming is not working then try and set it up using the manual instructions.

A 2nd unit I had ordered came and it worked fine with auto programming.  I’m sending the problem one back.
