CAN I HAVE A ROUTER BETWEEN MY GATEWAN AND MY DVR ?
I want to use a router between my DVR and my GATEWAY - I want to be able share a LAN to the DVR and a LAN to the SMART TV to be wired instead of wireless. I.e., I want to hard wire my GATEWAY to my ROUTER then hard wire to DVR and separately to SMART TV (no wireless traffic)
Thanks

We're here to help with your 3rd party equipment inquiry, @alanbell00!
To answer your question, yes you can set up a 3rd party router for your network. To do so you will need to set up IP Passthrough on your BGW modem. This function allows the 3rd party router to provide internet service to the devices connected to it.
To get started with the IP Passthrough you can perform these steps:
For configuration settings, please access the link above and view the table under the section titled Configuring IP Passthrough.
Along with that information, we also have an in-depth and informative forums article on setting up all sorts of 3rd party equipment from routers to video game consoles.
Let us know if this helps!

Hello. You’re likely gonna get lots of suggestions on this one but my take is to keep your home network as simple as possible. I have a personal router but I only use it in access point mode to operate the WiFi in the house with the BGW handling all the routing. Uverse TV works fine for both wired and wireless, using two of the four ports on the BGW. My personal router is an Orbi RBK50 which was good at the time for its dedicated wireless backhaul for the satellite device.
