Yes.  The various series of remotes are pretty much interchangeable (except for the RF one... that one's a little different).

OK, thanks.  Yeah, it wouldn't make sense to try and use a RF (radio frequency) remote with an IR (infra red) light receiving device.

The reason that I asked the original question, is that the S20 remotes are becoming increasingly hard to find, and if I can use an S30 remote to replace it, then it widens my options to obtain a new remote.

I tried to find a way to purchase a new S20 remote from AT&T, but when I follow the link on the AT&T website to purchase it, it just takes me to the AT&T store, and when you search for it, it can't find it, so I've been looking to Amazon and other sources to find new ones.

There was a RF/IR remote that did IR (TV power/Volume/Mute) to the TV and RF (Receiver commands) to a dongle in the front USB port of a TV receiver that would rebroadcast the RF received commands in IR.

Any remotes from ATT now will likely be refurbished as the product was cancelled to new subscribers March 1st 2020 about the time of start of pandemic.

I believe the S30 is actually the upgraded model.

The S30 has a lot more buttons that light up compared to the S20. Other than that...no difference.
