Why is Uverse customer service so bad?

I've tried for 10 days to sign up for Uverse. I'm caught in an endless loop - uverse never moved my account address (even though I wanted to move my service), so they sent months of bills to the wrong address. They also failed to cancel my account, lied to me, and tell me I wasn't "adamant" enough. Why are they so preoccupied with 2 year old equipment which was returned to them as opposed to opening a new account? Do some of their employees secretly work for T-Mobile or Verizon?

@InterestedParty Click the ATT Customer Care link in my signature, send the PM, explain your ordering situation.

 

Include your account #, email address and a good phone # (land or cell) and time to contact you on.

Check the blue PM envelope, upper right on every page, for their reply. Good luck 😉
