uverse fiberoptic internet password

Tech that installed my fiberoptic line, modem, router, asked if I wanted to change password when he hooked it up. I said I would change it later. He said that if I change it then it won't be split into a 2.4 and 5.0 setup on my wifi. If I change pword then it will auto toggle between 2.4 and 5.0 based on the need for any given device. Apparently he can set it up so that I have a choice. I don't like anyone having my password but I don't want to lose the choice to pick. Does this sound accurrate?

Happy to help you with your inquiry about your Wi-Fi password, katakuri.

To still be able to choose between the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, you can change the password on each band.

Follow the chart in our guide on how to change your Wi-Fi password. Under the section titled Wi-Fi Mode, select the 5 GHz band and change the password, then the 2.4 GHz band or vice versa, depending on which one is listed first.

Let us know if this helped, or if you need further assistance.
