U-Verse app won’t keep me signed in and won’t record showings through the app
The U-Verse app is suddenly having a lot of issues, on my iPad, with iOS 16. The app will not keep me signed in, even after I select the checkbox to keep me signed in. I have to sign in every single time I use the U-Verse app now on my iPad, which is really annoying. Also, the app won’t record showings anymore. I select a showing to record and it says the recording failed to be scheduled. Please fix as these issues are very annoying to a loyal customer, especially since the app didn't have these issues before and now it is every time I use it. I used to love the app and now I hate it since it keeps having issues. Also, the app sometimes won’t even connect and it says Login Error, error code 998.

I'm having the exact same problem. I can't stay logged into the U-verse app on either my iPhone nor iPad (both running iOS 15.7.1) even after checking the box to stay logged in. I have to re-log in every couple of hours whenever I use the app. Real hassle to have to keep doing. This has been a problem for several weeks now.
Another problem is when watching live TV on the app, when it gets to the top of the hour, all the channels stop working and I get error messages like - "The U-verse mobile service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later (UVM 996)."

Hi Robert,
I get that error message most often when I switch channels at or near the top of the hour while watching live TV using the U-verse app. Basically, I can't watch any channel for about the first 5 minutes or so from the top of each hour. After that time, I can try and watch live TV again using the app and most of the time i can watch from then on without the error message popping up every few seconds.
Regarding the other problem of not being able to stay logged into the app for more than a couple of hours despite checking the box to stay logged in, I deleted and reinstalled the app on both my iPhone and iPad and unfortunately I'm still having the same problem of not staying logged in.
BTW, somewhere I read that to solve this problem I can try to create another User ID that is not associated with an e-mail address, but when I tried to do this, the AT&T website says that all User IDs must be in an e-mail address format.
