Uverse account

So frustrated with Att. I have been a long time customer and they would rather lose an account rather then to offer a new promotion.   Kept being told to call back every few weeks with the run around and the I can’t do anything line.  I know there are promotions out there for select people as one of the customer agents told me.   You should have to negotiate like you do for a car for simple cable service. With all the different options out there you would think they would be happy with keeping your service. Not a single person went over the account to see if there could be any savings somewhere. It’s a shame what terrible customer service now days.

there are no new promotions for uverse as its a dead horse, yes they want you to cancel and go with thier streaming services, they are not allowing any new uverse accounts and if you were to cancel you would not be able to get it back. they eventually will phase out uverse all together in the near future

Pretty sad. I looked into their streaming service and it isn’t even compatible with my tv. I shouldn’t have to buy a device to get it to work with their service. Plus lying to me and keep telling me to call back, I’m busy and don’t like my time wasted. Pretty crappy service.

Their new streaming service is no less compatible with your TV than U-verse TV; it required a device, too.

If I go to streaming I don’t want to buy a device to get it to work. I had a fire stick and hated it with the lag time etc.  I didn’t have to buy uverse equipment it came with the service. You would think they would want to keep you business and if you like it keep you on your current plan with the same deal until you change. Like your cell phone.

If you're willing to pony up for a two year commitment, they'll "give" you the box "free."

They did not tell me that. Wonder why?

I don't know.  I know it's available, but it doesn't pop up as an option on the web site.  It may be a salesman only thing.

It sounds like it may be time to cut the cord since they don’t want my business.

The AT&T TV Streaming service has many things I don't like about it.  Many of those things it shares with other streaming services, first among them the traffic routes over the public internet where no one has any responsibility for insuring an uninterrupted stream of data--in real time--from the provider to my home.

At least with U-verse TV, while IP-based, it travels over a private AT&T network were they are responsible for making sure the multicast traffic is delivered on time (and since it's multicast, the volume of data is fixed regardless of the number of customers).

Once you make the jump off of U-verse TV, you can't come back.

With a 2 year commitment receive (1) receiver... additional receivers are $120 each which is equal to one year rental ($10 per month) of the UVERSE IPTV receivers.

May use a different device such as Roku or other device that supports ATT app instead of buying the android receiver(s).

Note on the 2 year promo deals, discounts in months 1-12 full price months 13-24 ... same deal as DirecTv service. The ATT TV guide is DirecTv guide just not requring a satellite dish to be installed.

Starting July UVERSE IPTV service will fall under the new division (joint venture) of DirecTv. ATT UVERSE techs will support the product for rest of year. Next year will likely be DirecTv tech responding to your request if issue is with receivers / DVR on ATT TV, DIRECTV, UVERSE IPTV.
