Stuck in a loop when I tried to login ATT U-verse app with update version on my iPad

I re-installed the ATT-U-verse app with an update version on my iPad last week.  Ever since March 28, 2022 ATT-U-verse pop-up a message saying a new version of the U-verse app is available. This version will be expired by 3/30/2022.  On 3/30/2022 when I tried to login to the app a message pop-up saying App Expired: A new version of the U-verse app is available. This version no longer supported. I press Get Update button U-verse icon pop up and then I press open button. It automatically go back to login icon and I press Get Update button again it was in a loop. Perhaps somehow my iPad registered my update version as an older version.  How do you bypass the Get Update so that I can login to ATT U-verse? Please advice!

@T_C

Go to the App Store and get updates.  You should see the U-verse app version 6.5 offered.

I had issues last month because they rolled out an update where your username had to be an email but I wasn't getting the prompt yet to change it until I had to reset my password from failed attempts.

Yes, you are right this whole transition to force users back to only member ID was badly handled.  However the instructions provided are clear and users need to be aware of their profile specifics.  Cheers.

As I have said that I re-installed the update version 6.5 of ATT U-verse app on iPad last week. For some reason the system couldn't detect my update version on my iPad. It kept on going into a loop.

I did go to App Store and get the update. Again, it automatically goes back to login icon and I press Get Update button again kept on going in a loop. Please advice.

When looking in the Apple app store, does the update showed installed, meaning you are given the option to open the app and it actually shows 6.5, yes?

Yes, when I press on open button but it goes back to login icon and pop up the same message Get Update. For some reason the system couldn't detect my update version already installed on my iPad. It kept on going into a loop.

At this point I would remove the app from the iPad and reinstall it.   When done, check in the App Store to see which version is actually installed.  Hopefully the issue will clear up for you.

Fair warning that Att will make changes without notification that updating is required but without specifying why.  When looking into the matter further it becomes clear they drop support for older hardware.  Personally I don’t think these moves are justified as there’s nothing special about this app that requires a newer OS, but yet I’ve seen this behavior now twice.
