Streaming ESPN+ on iphone or ipad
We paid for an ESPN+ Subscription so we could stream SEC ballgames and watch on demand archived past games on our iphones or ipad. We have U-verse cable TV 300 with SEC Network and ESPN. In the past we bought ESPN+ and could watch SEC games on our phone or ipad. We are not able to open or use ESPN+. We get an ERROR that says something like"....not authorized. contract provider." We have spent about 10 hours total talking to U-verse support, Apple Support, ESPN+ support. How do we make this work? What is the problem?

Your Uverse TV subscription has nothing to do with ESPN+. It is a completely standalone service.

Yes I know but on the cell phone and ipad it asks for your TV provider and has a drop down list....ESPN+ support told us many times to pick ATT U-verse.

There is no ESPN+ app. Just ESPN. And yes, you were told correctly to use your Uverse credentials. To do that you need to locate and use your member ID.

Thank you so much. We have tried using Uverse email and password. Do you mean my Uverse account number? It did not work at all with my U-verse email and password.

ESPN has an app.
That app provides access to content that ESPN publishes, subject to you having the rights to see that content.
Some of that content is available because you have a TV subscription, like U-verse TV, that allows you to see stuff that would normally be on one of the channels in your TV subscription, e.g. ESPN, SEC Network, etc.
Some of that content will be available only if you have an ESPN+ subscription.
You can thus be "logged in" more than one way for ESPN. Once, via your TV Provider's login when you select your TV provider, and you can be logged in with an account that ESPN recognizes for ESPN+ content. That would be a user name that you setup directly with Disney/ESPN.

It’s hard to tell from here what people consider to be their Uverse userid. However it is clearly shown in the user profile once logged in at att.com. Look for the section where the BAN is shown.
If you are using the correct credentials, next step is to unlink the credentials from the rest of att emails.

Happy to help you get around the error message so you can stream ESPN content, savra14.
As gr8sho and JefferMC mentioned, you need to be logged in with your U-verse member ID so that you can stream content under your U-verse account. If you don't know what your member ID is, follow these steps to find it:
You can get more information about your IDs for signing in on our website.
Let us know if this helped, or if you need further assistance.

We have spent hours and hours talking to ESPN+ support, U-verse Support, Apple support. We paid for ESPN+ downloaded the app. I just verified we are using the correct U-verse member ID and password. WE WANT TO STREAM THE SEC NETWORK ON OUR IPHONE AND IPAD AND GO BACK TO PAST ARCHIVED ON DEMAND SEC NETWORK GAMES! WHEN WE TRY TO DO THIS IT SAYS "YOU ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO PLAY THIS CONTENT. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR PROVIDER!! WE could stream these games last year but not now after our renewal. We want to watch Arkansas RAZORBACKS. We are ready to switch to Infinity if AT&T can not fix this issue! HELP! We are frustrated. We used this app last year with no issue. After we paid $80.00 for a year subscription it will not open or work. We have deleted the app and reinstalled it multiple times....has to be an AT&T U-verse issue.....all they want to talk about is FIBER! I will consider a new internet and Wifi and TV provider! I pay way too much for this aggravation. WE get the SEC Network on our U-verse TV.....has to be a big issue with U-verse streaming....we are ready to talk to Infinity or some other internet TV provider. U-verse techical support needs to address the issue not push FIBER!!

You can get SEC Network content if you have SEC Network on your AT&T U-verse TV service, which you have if you have U-300 or above, not U-200 or U-Family). You should not have had to pay for ESPN+ for that privilege. If you paid ESPN+ for that privilege, then you should take that up with ESPN because AT&T has nothing to do with that.
Make sure that after you select AT&T U-verse as your TV provider, that you log in with your AT&T account e-mail ID that you use for your AT&T U-verse TV account. If you are already doing that, try changing your provider and setting it back up. If that doesn't work, set up a Subaccount in your AT&T profile and try using that when logging in to the AT&T account page for ESPN app setup.

We have U-verse 300 and have the SEC network on our TV. We also paid for an ESPN+ Subscription. The issue is we can not stream the SEC Network on phones or ipad or go into On Demand for SEC. We try ESPN+ under our U-verse and the U-verse log in and password. All this sub account back up stuff is too complicated and time consuming for us.....we have spent way too much time and emotional frustration on this especially considering how much we pay each month! IF there is no easy solution we will switch to Infinity especially since AT&T thinks it is no big deal for me to take off work for them to install Fiber or give them my Sat to do it. They should discount the bill for that time installing Fiber. They are way way more concerned with Fiber than fixing the service they promised to give us. We need to be able to watch SEC on the road on an iphone.

Fine. It would take 10 minutes, but if that's how you feel, that's up to you. Good luck.

I am having a similar issue. I am trying to login to espn with my userid and password. It allows me to log on but as soon as I try to watch it says "You are not authorized to watch this content. Please contact your provider." Again I wanted to reiterate, I'm not using ESPN plus just regular espn. And I do currently have ESPN on my package. Has there been any updates?

Charles, did you just ask a customer to post personal information (i.e. the ID they're using to log in) on a public thread?
Surely not. Surely you do know better than that.
@armaniedwards21 please do not post personal information in this thread except a reply to a post marked Private (it will have the word Private in a colored background at the top of the post/comment header).

We can stream ESPN+ but NOT THE SEC NETWORK SPECIFICALLY THE RAZORBACKS. If U-verse is NO LONGER STREAMING THE SEC then we want to cancel the extra cost of ESPN+. NO ONE AT AT&T or U-VERSE will give us a straight answer. Last year we could stream the SEC Network through ESPN+ on our phone and ipad through U-verse cable. SEC Network is on our U-verse cable. We always get the error "You are not authorized to watch this content. Please contact your provider." Or provider has been no help!
