Stop sending me marketing junk mail

We cancelled our subscription with your company /at&t a YEAR ago.

We do not want any junk mail or fraudulently Debit cards sent to our mailing address from who knows where  with Indian call center people trying to steal your identity.

PLEASE stop this harassment of junk mail being mailed to us.

Take our address off the mailing address or Provide another way to do  this without contacting the dumb call center.

this is a customer populated forum so no one from at&t will see your post nor will they remove you from a mailing list.

@mesekow

This request will not work as nobody here knows who you are. This is a public forum of other customers.

You must call AT&T to opt out of their marketing mail.

This is not harassment. You can just discard any junk mail you don't care about. As for fraud/identity theft attempts, that is certainly not AT&T but crooks (perhaps pretending to be AT&T represented).

If you are sent a prepaid debit/rewards card, I would double check it as that is how AT&T does refunds. But if it is an offer for a debit card, then that definitely wouldn't be AT&T.

Now if you cannot be bothered to call them, you could try a BBB complaint and see what that does. But shouting to the world in a posting forum will not change anything.

We are here to help with those unwanted emails, @mesekow.

Thank you to the aces for the useful information.

On the marketing emails themselves, there should be an opt out option at the bottom of the emails, or an unsubscribe option at the top of the emails.

As @Juniper stated, we suggest that you call our support team for more help with removing your email from the mailing list. You can contact them at (800-288-2020).

If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to reach back out.

Thank you for contacting AT&T Forums.

@Juniper:

I realize that you are being subjective as an employee of AT&T

If this is a public forum then I am entitled to “shout” out to whoever I want to. I don’t have provide proof of who I am!!

I DO find receiving junk mail harassing  from your company especially because I cancelled my subscription a long , long time ago for good reasons.

In fact I found the whole experience from start to finish when I signed up with your company a disaster(AT&T direct tv universe), from the billing to the costly monthly charges to be extortion. Overly priced and to get ANYTHING changed regarding an incorrect bill to be painful.  Aggravating hours while waiting for someone competent on the call center to pick up the phone who actually comprehends your issue.

I BET that I am not the only one who feels this way!!

I received a DEBIT rewards card from AT&T in the mail recently. I was  suspicious because I cancelled my subscription a long, long time ago.

I try to use the card at a grocery store because it can’t be wrong to buy food. Of course it didn’t work.

Ok, so now I must once again call a call center and waste my time because of incompetent systems??

Then I get the Indian call center who tries to steal my identity info and my time.

In conclusion: Why don’t you try call you own call centers and deal with your own incompetent systems?
I also don’t appreciate your SNOTTY remarks about “bothering to call”

You should really be trying to make a difference to help people in your line of work instead of collecting badges or making idiotic comments.

So, now I guess I am left again to call yet another call center in the hopes that I actually succeed in removing my name and address and NOT my email  from one of your systems again.

AGAIN I bet, I am NOT the only one who feels this way.

Not an employee. I am a customer as stated in my post.

If this is a public forum then I am entitled to “shout” out to whoever I want to. I don’t have provide proof of who I am!!

I did not say you had to provide proof. I was pointing out that because we are customers like you, we naturally do not know who you are and cannot process your request. For that you must call AT&T for official support.

Junk mail is not recognized as a form of harassment. If you feel otherwise, then that is a personal issue. My suggestion is just return to sender or discard any junk mail and move on.

If you canceled a "long long time ago", then a rewards card would be suspicious. But then you just call AT&T and have them check the old account to see if something caught up that warranted a refund. If it was then hey that is in your favor, if not then you can disregard as a scam from someone pretending to be AT&T.

The "badges" are automatic by the forum. Welcome to today's society that needs constant achievement milestone markers. I don't discuss on the forum for the badges, I do so because I enjoy conversing with others and helping many like I was helped when I first came to the forum.

Nothing I said was "snotty", it was in direct response that you were not wanting to call to resolve your issue.

Again they are not my call centers any more than yours. I am not an employee of AT&T. I gave you information and direction to take care of the problem you are experiencing.
