signing into my account and having to change password EVERY time
Every time I try to sign into my account to pay my bill it says I have had too many attempts at signing in. I have only done it the one time. Every time I have changed my password and was able to get in to pay my bill. It's really the ONLY time I sign in.
This last time I got so disgusted that I used the "pay bill without signing in" option. But I didn't like that I had to sign into my bank account to make the payment when all of that info is already in my AT&T account IF I WERE ONLY ALLOWED TO SIGN IN!

We're here to help with keeping you signed in to your account, @DKAYSE.
To stay signed in to your account for longer, please be sure you're checking the Keep me signed in box on the login page. This should help with keeping you signed in for longer without issue.
Furthermore, do you happen to have an email address linked to the ID you're using to sign in? If so, this may be the reason you're getting locked out so often, as we're currently experiencing a known issue with our email users getting locked out of their accounts due to bad actors trying and failing to breach our customer's email accounts.
Our security team is working on getting this matter resolved, however something that you can try doing to bypass this is creating a new User ID that isn't connected to an email account. This should hopefully help with ensuring that you don't run into this error again without reason.
Let us know how these steps work for you!

How do I go about changing my user ID? I only see an option if I have forgotten it.

I have tried to change my user ID and am once again told that I have tried too many times to sign in. I am only allowed to create a user ID with a valid email format. ??????????/

We're happy to help, @DKAYSE.
as @Jarod mentioned, we are currently experiencing a known issue with our email users getting locked out of their accounts due to bad actors trying and failing to breach our customer's email accounts.
Our engineers are aware of this issue and are working to get this fixed. Let us know if you have any other questions and concerns.
Thank you for contacting the AT&T Community Forums Team.
