Returning Uverse Equipment
I cancelled my Uverse TV service. Went to the Fed Ex place to mail in equipment as instructed by AT&T. Fed Ex would not accept the Wireless Access Point piece of equipment (which was one of the items I was instructed to return). They said that there had been a problem with them scanning that piece of equipment and their system/AT&T's system not recognizing and then customers were being charged the $150 non return fee. I have called customer service (oh boy what a fun experience that was) and asked for an address so I can send the WAP to AT&T. I have 21 days from 5/1 to do this. They are supposedly sending me a label. I am nervous I won't be able to return the equipment in time and thus be charged $150. This whole AT&T experience (Edited per community guidelines). I have been a customer at current address for 5 solid years. Never again.

Yes, problems like these are not unknown at all. Several DIRECTV customers have reported having problems with returning their equipment because DIRECTV closed their accounts and the FEDEX/UPS store could not access the OP's account. When the bill came from AT&T, the customer could not pay it because their account was closed. I wish you luck and hope that this will not be your fate.
