Red X 5 error message

I have a red X and the number 5. I've rebooted the entire system, and AT&T sent me a new receiver today, still no help. Please advise.

Let's see if we can get your receivers back up and running, @chandlerbrown032577.

Here is more information about how to troubleshoot the error code that you are receiving.

We recommend that you:

We suggest that you check all of your connections to make sure they are tight and secure. The reboot of the gateway and the wireless access point will refresh the network and the connection to the wireless receivers.

Let us know if this helps.

I’d recheck to ensure the connection from the receiver to the gateway is functioning correctly.  One way to test is to bring the settop box near the gateway and connect it with an Ethernet cable.  You can use a tv or even a computer monitor that has a an HDMI connection to see if the box will boot up correctly.

It might be really helpful to have a table of what the numbers mean.  Funny that AT&T will tell you general troubleshooting, but never provide the meaning of the number.

MAKE SURE! Frontier is NOT having a outage in your area... ASK THEM Please or you will spend 45 mins doing everything to reset and then Opps I see you have a Outage in your area...Note to JefferMC, I did call today when my X5 came on my Tv., the Tech told me she had NO clue what it means... she said to me it's 99.999% the outage in my area that is causing the prob.

The person who wrote the software that displayed the number with the X had some idea what that number meant.  But that is not disclosed to the first level support, perhaps in fear that they might actually tell someone.
