Old Telephone line from street to house that needs to be removed

We have a telephone line that runs from our house to the street. It has been there since we bought the house 5 years ago, and every year it hangs lower and lower and is now about 7 feet from the ground. We have no landline, nor will we ever have one. How can we have it removed. We live in Perrysburg, Ohio.

Thanks for reaching out about the phone line, @Deborahjoslin.

To report the line, call us at 800-288-2020.

  • If you have an account, provide your account info and say, “Line is down.”
  • If you don't, say "No account." When asked if you want to order new service, say "No." Then, to let us know why you're calling, say “Line is down.”

Thanks again for reaching out the AT&T Community Forums team. Take care.

ATTHelp / Aminah, can you help me with my problem:

I need help scheduling a service ticket (#pe51qn64) appointment for removal of abandoned POTS to my house in San Francisco. It was very painful (took several hours on phone) to get the service ticket. I was told I would be contacted by ATT within 48hrs and this time has passed. Today, my attempt to check on status with a rep ended in the call being disconnected. Also note that it's extremely difficult to navigate ATT's phone machine for this sort of thing when you don't have a phone number or account. Thanks.
