Is there a financial plan for tv services?

I am 62 years old and had to resign my job (that I loved) of 15 years with my church because of my declining health. That job was my life. I was diagnosed with Lupus in July, had hand surgery Dec. 30th, back surgery Jan. 24th and now have a broken foot. My body is just not well right now. I am living on my Social Security income of $697 (which my 2005 car and home insurance takes almost half of that). I NEVER thought I'd be in this situation. I called AT&T about my situation last month (since I owed $400 to them - although they are crooks and don't tell the truth...but I won't go into my history with them) and they offered for me to pay just $50 last month instead of the minimum. But that was last month and now it's a month later and they are wanting the minimum or split in two payments...which won't help because next month's bill will be on top of the first half's bill. So, I'm asking anyone if they know if AT&T would have a financial program for low income people (like me)? I know I'm putting too much "faith" in AT&T to have a program like that because of all the negative experiences I have had and heard about. I would have changed a long time ago - but I have been almost bedridden since May, 2019 and I know how hard they make it to stop service with them like having to mail in all the boxes I have, etc. and I had to have access to tv, and internet services.

I'm sorry this is so long, but just wanted to explain my situation and see if anyone knows if ATT has a financial program.

Thanks for "listening"

There is no financial program for TV since it is not considered a necessity. You can always call CS 1-800-288-2020 and see what discounts are available to everyone.

They do offer the ACCESS Program for Internet for those on SNAP (food stamps). More info HERE

You have a couple of options for TV:

1. Downgrade your package. You'll have to determine if the lower packages are worth the cost.

2. Go with only streaming services which are cheaper like Netflix. The kids call this 'cutting the cord'. Both of my adult children cut the cord and watch Netflix, Prime and Hulu.

3. Use an antenna which of course gives you FREE Over-the-air programs.

As far as returning your equipment, you can ask for a return kit. You box up the equipment and give it to your mailman. More information is HERE
