How do I report a downed telephone line?

I have a line in front of my house (laying on the sidewalk) that DTE has told me is a telephone line.  I don't have AT&T, or a landline.  I called 800-288-2020 and was told to call Risk Management at 800-894-0374.  I called but only received voice mail.  I don't know if this is the correct number to call, as the voicemail asked for a claim number.  Can anyone help?

Ok, I'll try calling that number again and see if I have any more luck.  As I said, when I called that number the first time, I was connected to someone who gave me the Risk Management phone number.

There are two numbers listed on the page that Constructive linked. Be sure to call the number for the Buried Wire Center. They're the ones you'll need to speak with to have the line moved.

I called and a ticket was issued for this.  I was told it could be anywhere between 2 and 60 days before it will be taken care of.  I reiterated that the line is laying across the sidewalk, and even though the area has been caution-taped off, I stated I hoped they could put a rush on it.  I’ll post on here when the problem has been resolved.  Thanks again

We're here to help @jce1111, with information on how to report down lines.

 

What you can do is contact our Buried Wire Center to report the down lines. Please let us know if that helps at all.
