home calls

I got a call from a guy who said he was AT&T but I couldn't hardly understand him he say he would lower my account 40 dollars a month. but asked questions he should have had his name Mike ex 8023 #718-355-9664 has this happened to anyone else?

It's a scam.  They spoof the numbers.  They ask for gift cards.  They call mostly DirecTV customers but Uverse too.  It's a scam that's been going on for years now.  They are in another country so it is difficult if not impossible to stop them. 

I hope you didn't give any personal or account information.

not in this life time I don't give out anything just because of stuff like this. I sure wish it would stop but it won't be in my life time

You can sometimes get deals to lower your bill by calling 800-288-2020 and ask for retentions or cancellations.

If they offer you a deal, they will not remind you when the deal is about to expire. If they offer something like three months free, your bill will go up, unless you call to cancel.

I find that a reminder on a calendar works for me. Others use a post-it note near the TV.

I'm currently getting $40 off my TV, two wireless receivers for free and 1000 Mbps fiber internet for less than the cost of slower internet. Because I'm getting 1000 Mbps, I'm getting HBO Max included. As they say, "your mileage may vary."
