Door to door sales

We had two individuals who came to our door stating they were marketing AT &T new Fiber Optic Sales.   My husband continued to talk with them and signed up for a new service.  My gut was screaming that this felt like a scam.   

Their badges said "Ashai Global Inc." AT&T Authorized Solution Provider.  Is this a ligament third party that is legally able to sell AT&T services?
