Does ATT bill Uverse one month in advance or for a past month of service?

I called to cancel Uverse on 5/4/2021. I was told that my account was paid through 5/26 so that would be the last day of my service. I requested Internet service to continue. I was told the Internet bill would be $65 per month. Within a few days I received a detail of what I owed for the ongoing Internet service. I paid that amount. Now I receive a bill for ongoing internet service plus what appears to be another month of Uverse. I called and spoke to 2 CSRs. Of course, they told me I had a past due balance plus late charges. I asked for copies of the last 6 months' bills be sent to me so I can figure this out.  Does ATT bill retrospectively for Uverse which would mean I owed for 4/26-5/25? If so, why would the CSR that I spoke to when I called to cancel on 5/4/2021 tell me I was paid through 5/26 and service would end on that date?

Look at your bill online.....actually you can look at the last 16 months online.

Forget the day your bill is due.  Forget the day you paid it.  Look at your BILLING CYCLE DATES.

AT&T DOES NOT PRO-RATE YOUR FINAL BILL.  When you cancel mid-cycle, you continue to have service and are billed through your FINAL BILLING DATE.

You cancelled on 5/14.  If your BILLING CYCLE ended on 5/26, then yes, you owe for the rest of that BILLING CYCLE.

My bill is due 6/17.  This is for service from 4/27 thru 5/26.  So no, they do not bill in advance.

I am unable to view the bills on line even though I am an authorized user. Account is in husband's name but he has not been able to get into his emails or account for months. We spent 2-1/2 hours on the phone with a technical representative and no one can figure it out. That is why I have asked for 6 months of paper bills be sent to me.

Billing cycle date is 26th of the month to the 25th of the following month. I paid the full bill on 4/16 for the period 4/26 - 5/25. Service was terminated on midnight, 5/25. As such I should have no past due or additional charges. Right?

The bill you paid on 4/16 would have been for 2/26 thru 3/25.

You would owe another bill on 5/16 for 3/26 thru 4/25.

Your final billing cycle is 4/26 thru 5/25 and due June 16.

I don't know how to explain it in any simpler terms.
