charges for service call

I received my bill with an additional $107.04  because your serviceman came out to fix my U-verse situation. (I was unable to get TV service for 3 days). I don't believe I should have been charged because when I telephoned you I was switched from one person to another. Please note that I am 84 years old and deaf. I have to use closed captioning, so talking to a representative was very difficult. I have been given a measly credit of $10 for this overcharge. I was not responsible for the lack of service. I visited your AT&T stores but apparently, these are only there to get new phones and services--no help with restoring my service. Why is it that there is no office or resource for in-person help for people like me? I want the entire extra charge of $107.04 deleted from my bill. Your company needs to provide more effective--not more costly--services.

You are correct here; AT&T stores exist to sell cell phone service, and cell phones and accessories.  They may occasionally engage in random acts of customer service for wireless customers.  They are not there to support AT&T wireline products.  You might get them to let you pay a bill.  They might actually verify a death certificate, letters testamentary or a power of attorney so that an account can be closed on behalf of someone else (assuming that you locate an actual AT&T corporate store vs. a virtually indistinguishable store front that is actually an authorized retailer not owned by AT&T).

I was not responsible for the lack of service.

This is the bedrock of the issue.  What did the AT&T representative onsite do to correct your issue?  Did he replace equipment, do something outside, reconnect a cable?
