AT&T's POA Team
I am power of attorney for my elderly aunt who is technically challenged. I am very frustrated. AT&T has a POA team that handles POAs. I sent them my POA and Drivers License. I received an auto-reply that says this:
Thank you!
Your email to the Power of Attorney Team has been received. We will answer your question or resolve your issue as quickly as possible. Typically issues and inquires will receive a response within forty eight hours
Power of Attorney Team
Even though a long time has passed, I get nothing back. Nothing. It doesn't seem that complex of a matter to verify the POA . This is regarding her phone and TV service, not national security.
What is wrong with AT&T?

Update: After posting this I received a call back from AT&T to discuss the account.

Has someone figured this out? I, too, am in the exact same situation. I hope they get back to me as they read this.. we're going on a MONTH now with no response. And yet, this is TO PAY THEIR BILL!!!!!!!!!

Hi JefferMC, it is for a MOBILE account... but as you can see.. my attempts at getting ANY contact info for their POA TEAM have bee futile until I saw the complaint above echoing mine. I've run out of options here.. and the bills for the person I am POA for are piling up and I'm sure they're about to suspend his account. All because they don't respond! I sent them my POA back in July 22nd.. I got the automated response, then a direct response asking for a phone number to contact me.. then..... crickets. I realize this is DIRECTV and not AT&T mobile, but, again, I have run out of options so was hoping to somehow obliquely get a hold of them. Thanks for responding. It's the first person I interact with since a month ago.

Because it is mobile and you posted in the DirecTV forums, I'm not sure how anyone here can help. There really isn't anyone here associated with AT&T other than maybe one or two AT&T technicians who post on their own time and not as representatives of the company.

AFAIK, there are not even any AT&T Technicians over here.
Have you tried to take any account action that requires you to exercise the PoA that you've registered? You might find that it's actually taken care of. You may also see a pig fly. Not sure which is more likely.
You might try posting a query to the official accounts on Twitter or Facebook.

@JefferMC is correct @stevebfx you should reach out to AT&T via their social media accounts.

Ugh, thanks everyone for your sage advice. Sadly, after last year's election cycle, I got sick and tired of political posts so I cancelled all my social media accounts. (I must say.. IT WAS LIBERATING! NO MORE PHOTOS OF MY DINNER FOR FRIENDS! haha). Anyway... I appreciate all of you stopping by to lend a hand. I've just created a BBB complaint that is being sent to them via that channel.. let's see if that jogs anyone into action. Thanks again, all! (Maybe per chance SOMEONE from AT&T miraculously logs in and sees this one..)

By the way.. (thanks for being my ears)... to give you an idea of the nonsense I've been dealing with... I took JefferMC's advice and reached out to AT&T to see if they had indeed activated the POA without notifying me (Citibank did that so it was very possible).. and first the customer service rep says "Sure, I can take care of that for you".. so I give them the info... it takes a while, then "Sorry, we can't look into this for you, you have to call the GLOBAL LEGAL DEMAND CENTER office that handles all legal issues". OK, that sounds logical.. when I call them, they say "If you are NOT involved in litigation and do not have a lawyer, then call... " The regular service department. WHEEEEE customer service ping pong. I seriously can't believe how difficult they are being with this.. I mean.. I am TRYING TO GIVE THEM MONEY.... not steal the magna carta. (rolling eyes).
