Att uverse
I was with at&t over 10 years. After having a problem with the bill I refused to pay uverse. 3 year pass by and the collection agency call with a settlement and I paid it. The item was remove from my credit. 2 years later out of the blue, uverse hit my credit report again. No call, no email, no letter. Now they want the remaining of the bill. First time I call AT&T, the saw the problem and put notes in the system. I needed to talk to uverse billing. Call back several times and no one has a clue what I'm talking about. Puts me on hold and I never hear back from them again. These people are clueless of what they are doing. I'm going to continue to fight this. I filed a complaint with the BBB. I'm filing a complaint with the State Attorney General office. I believe this is deliberate; screwing people over for more money.

I believe you can dispute a collection on your credit report. It still shows but it is noted as "dispute".
