ATT balance showing up as Franklin Collection on credit report in error.
I have a collection for uverse on my credit report for $471 but when I called customer service, they have no record of the balance owed. How can I get this removed from my credit report?

Have you tried to contact the Franklin Collection?
The way this works is that a company (ATT) will sell a past due bill to a collection agency (Franklin Collection) for pennies on the dollar. It is then the collection agency's intent to collect as much as they can on the debt. Let's say, hypothetically, a past due bill is $100. It might get sold for $50. Now if the collection agency can collect the entire $100 they've doubled their money. If they manage to get $75 they've still made a profit.
If your debt was 'sold' to Franklin that might be the reason that it's no longer showing on your AT&T account. Google Franklin Collection for contact information.

I have talked to Franklin and they won’t give me information until i discuss with a lawyer. I still believe this all has been done in error. I have tried contacting ATT but have not had any luck getting some one to pull up the account with the # provided to me by Franklin. It seems as if the account is no longer active in their system. Is there someone to contact that handles closed accounts?
