Am I stuck with this u-verse plan for a year?
I recently spoke with a att associate about canceling my service since my promotion was ending and going up $40 and it just isn't worth it to me so they told me i would get another year of discount for the following year but much better which I jumped on board. I was told my total bill would be no more than $114 a month for a year and I took it not realizing that apparently it was just for Tv service only which is $116 but they didn't say that at the time. I was told my total bill would be no more than $114 a month for 12 month. I got one bill for $111 but this month it's right back up to what it was before which we were paying that amount for the past year but had decided with things the way it are now, we would have to cut cost and tv would be the cut so we do not have a good deal after all. I was told that if i just went with internet, the cost would still be about the same as what we are paying. Anyone else out there paying over $154 for just internet? Will I have to pay for cancelling fee if i cancel this so called promotion now or have to muddle through another year?

Which Internet plan are you on? Which UverseTV package do you have? If you are unsure on either, look at your bill online (if you don't receive a paper bill). Your bill will show which plan you have, the price you are paying and any discounts you are getting.
There is NO internet plan that is $154 a month so that statement is wrong. Do a little research online since all pricing is available there.
Since UverseTV is a dying product, discounts are few and far between....some would say non-existent. There is no reason for AT&T to keep UverseTV customers for something they are trying to get rid of.

Plan U200 but I have looked at the detail and we got the discount for one month but That wasn't what she said to me on the phone and then we continue to get the same service for what we paid last year but we had planned on not continuing that and I told her so I was mislead in thinking we would get this marvelous discount for a year. As far as the dying U-verse service, I haven't been offered anything else to take it's place and they can cancel my service anytime they want to be rid of it. Customers of the other service like Direct Tv aren't happy with that either and many have cancelled completely and got an antenna. Old people are easily fooled and that's a shame.

The replacement, offered since March 2020, is DirecTv Stream which recommends having internet 25 or greater from any ISP (telco or cable).
As you have have Uverse IPTV your internet speed should be 25 or greater depending on facilities availability.
You buy the equipment ($120 per receiver) as either upfront or $10 per month for 12 months.

edit U200 likely considering CHOICE package ($89.99)

Hopefully my problem is resolved. I think it's a misunderstanding on my part on billing but it's confusing so I'll wait and see. I copied the summery that I was told would be my bill for the next 12 months so hopefully It's correct.
