Account Unavailble

Our box was working just fine and all of a sudden it now says “This set top box does not match account settings” I checked all the wires and plugs and everything is plugged in. What do I do?

Here's the easiest to the more PITA options:

Reboot the box.  If you're lucky, that's all you need.

If rebooting the box doesn't work, do a Whole House Reboot.  Unplug everything (DVR, boxes, modem).  Wait 30 secs.  Plug in modem first and allow it to become functional.  Plug in DVR next.  Allow it to start working.  Plug in any STBs.

Final option:  Call CS.  See if they can tweek anything from their end.  If not, they can send you a replacement box for self-install.  You have 21 days to return the bad box.

Good luck and let us know.

I had similar problems with synching my "alias" ATT accounts on Outlook for 7 days - one of four was working - so I checked the settings in incoming and outgoing email servers and found that those settings changed from imap to winmetro.imap.mail.yahoo.com and outgoing to winmetro.smtp.mail.yahoo.com - ALL techs from microsoft wanted me to buy a new W10  pc and were of absolutely no help - couldn't reach ATT techs - so I changed all aliases to this - the incoming port 993 and outgoing port 465 stayed the same -  So before you get talked into buying a new pc - you may want to try this.  Good luck
